Yukon Travel: Yukon Travel Guide and Essential Information

Yukon travel is a unique experience which provides a window to the past and view of the present. Strike it rich panning for gold outside the boardwalk-lined streets of Dawson City or fly-fish in one of the plentiful pristine lakes. You can’t help but be mesmerized by nature’s magnificence when hiking through the mountain trails or artic tundra, canoeing the scurrying rivers or rock climbing the soaring cliffs. Stretch your imagination and see what kind of travel Yukon has to offer.

There are many ways to reach the Yukon, but one of the most popular methods of travel is along the majestic Alaskan highway. Often referred to as Canada’s most scenic drive, the highway runs from Fort Nelson, BC through the old gold rush town of Dawson City and Whitehorse, the Yukon’s capital, before reaching its ultimate destination in Fairbanks Alaska.

Even though the Yukon’s wilderness is plain view in every location, one place sure to amaze even the most well-travelled is Kluane National Park and Reserve. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park is home to Mt. Logan, Canada’s highest peak. Standing at almost 20,000 feet high, amazingly enough, Mt. Logan is growing taller each year due to geological movement in the earth.

The Yukon invites you to be amazed by its fantastic features and stand in awe of its commanding scenery. Stay up all night in the summer’s constant sunlight or gaze upon the graceful movements of the Northern Lights. Come and see how entertaining nature can be.
